MODULE 1:

WHAT DO YOU LOVE?

In this opening module you will discover what it is you have been hoping to create by reaching that ‘ideal weight’ and what that really means to you. This is probably the most important module because so often we really haven’t figured out what it is REALLY want in our lives but assume that our body is holding us back or will give us everything we hope.  This is also important because when you stop thinking about food and your body all of the time, you will need something else to put your focus on.

MODULE 2:

ADDICTION VS. HABIT

In this module, you are introduced to my signature Binge Buster Method to help you begin to feel empowered around food to enable you to stop compulsively overeating. We discuss what is really going on inside our brain when we struggle with compulsive eating and what has created this feeling of addiction.  Feeling helpless and hopeless around food is a huge deterrent in healing the relationship with food, so it is imperative that we shift this to leave you feel empowered and hopeful.  The Binge Buster Method allows you to begin to feel hopeful and regain your confidence around food.

MODULE 3:

DITCH THE DIET

Module 3 gives you the information to understand why dieting hasn’t worked for you up to now.  How dieting has actually made you GAIN weight and harder for you to create a healthy relationship with food and your body. You will get tools and exercises on how to live in a culture in which the diet messages are so insidious we rarely even realize it when we are hearing them anymore.  Ditching the diet mentality is KEY in creating peace with food and your body.

MODULE 4:

HEALING EATING

Are you ready to make peace with food?  In this module we cover what that actually entails, how to implement that in your life and how all of the ‘food rules’ are hindering your progress.

MODULE 5:

YOUR BODY IS TALKING TO YOU – CAN YOU HEAR IT?

Becoming your own Body Whisperer is what this program is all about and in this module we get into the nitty-gritty of how to really begin to connect deeply with your body so you can hear what it is telling you. This module is packed with tools that will help you begin to really connect with your body – from knowing how to tell when you are truly hungry (and full!), to how to know what to eat, how much to eat, what makes you feel great.

MODULE 6:

WHAT’S EATING YOU?

We are all familiar with that phrase, “I feel fat.” but the reality is that ‘fat’ is not an emotion.  In this module we discuss how to figure out what we are really feeling and then how to honor those emotions – and not use food to cope with how we are feeling.

MODULE 7:

BODY LOVE

In order to really stop the diet/binge cycle you have to begin to honor and respect your body. Faced with years of self shame and hatred and feeling betrayed by your body, how do you even begin to do that? In this module you will start to implement tools that supports returning to a place of respect and appreciation for your body – eventually leading to a real love of your body again.  You can’t hate yourself thin, so this module is an important part of the long-term healing process.

MODULE 8:

MOVEMENT

What does it feel like to actually LIKE moving your body?  Most of you have probably used exercise more for the calorie-burning properties vs. because you actually LOVE it. This module is all about shifting your focus to how it feels to move your body and finding ways to be active just for the sheer joy of it.

MODULE 9:

GENTLE NUTRITION

Now that we have done away with all of the food rules and made peace with food, it is time to begin to understand how to honor your health, your body, AND your taste buds while also making you feel good inside and out.

MODULE 10:

DAILY PRACTICE

Creating a daily practice is an act of extreme self-care – and what better way to honor your body and your budding relationship than by creating daily habits that support your ongoing healing journey? This module focuses on taking all that we have learned and creating easily implemented little daily habits that continue to build on all of the work you have been doing throughout The Body Whisperer Project.  Establishing these little daily habits are what makes a life so this module will give you a daily plan that will lead to your long-term success.

Meet Katherine…

Hi, I’m Katherine Nilbrink, and I was you.

I was a chronic yo-yo dieter, always searching for the diet to help me finally lose the extra weight and keep it off.  I hated the way my body looked and thought if I could just achieve some number on the scale, I would love myself and my life would be perfect. The irony of all of this is that when I look back at photos of when I was younger and beginning this battle with weight, self-hatred, and food – I actually didn’t need to lose any weight.  I was at a perfect size for me, within a healthy weight range, and was fit and strong. I had been made fun of because I had a “booty” (which is “in” now!) I was told I was “chubby” by my dad, because I wasn’t rail-thin like some of my peers. So I took on that message that I was “fat” and somehow “not right.” I started my first diet the summer between 7th and 8th grade. Which led to a life-long search for the “perfect” diet to help lose the extra weight and learn to love myself. And because that first diet led me to feel deprived and hungry, I couldn’t stay on it. As an active teenager in gymnastics, pom-pom squad, running, and other sports, I was TRULY hungry! But because of those feelings of deprivation and true hunger, that first diet quickly led to REAL weight gain and overeating – and it began a cycle that I couldn’t stop. Oh, the irony. As we all know, diets don’t work. Sure, you can lose weight by restricting calories, but the real problem was that I was eating too much.  It wasn’t the DIET so much as learning how to stop overeating and use food for something other than food. Dieting taught me how to overeat and override my own body’s knowledge of what it needs, so I had to stop dieting to begin to stop overeating.

This search for the “perfect plan” led me to devoting my whole life to this problem. I became an award-winning aerobics instructor. I studied nutrition, anatomy, physiology, and psychology in undergrad and graduate school. I became a Master Certified Coach in the search for how to create a happier life (for myself and then others!) I worked in a residential eating-disorder facility, helping residents learn about food and nutrition and how to feed themselves appropriately and mindfully. I even helped developed Whole Foods Market’s Healthy Eating program. . . . And I came across research that helped me achieve amazing physical health through nutritional excellence. I learned about how some foods stimulate our brains in such a way as to create the craving to overeat. But we all know it’s not just about the food. I also noticed that most people struggle with sticking with their new, healthier habits because they keep fighting the urge to overeat. This is where I realized it was actually a lot easier to break this pattern than we are told, and I came up with . . .

a non-therapeutic method of stopping the all-consuming thoughts around food. And with that method, I finally stopped overeating.

But it was the work I did on myself that brought me to where I am today. At peace and filled with joy. We don’t hate ourselves thin. In fact, it was that self-hatred that made me gain the weight in the first place. So – I get it. I was you. But I’m also here to tell you that there is light at the end of this tunnel. Today, I live free from the fear of continually overeating and dieting – free from the fear that I will always be doomed to feeling like food and my weight control me. It’s why I do what I do. Because I found a solution that works. A REAL solution, where you eliminate your desire to overeat – forever. Where food doesn’t control you. Where your weight isn’t a constant source of stress. Where you are no longer at war with yourself but wake up loving the body you’re in. Where you finally have to time to devote to living a life YOU dream of versus always waiting for life to start because you aren’t “thin enough.” And I have made it my mission to share this with you. Because YOU MATTER, too. And I want you to feel this same wonderful joy, peace, and freedom.
